Marc P. Clearfield

Marc Peter Clearfield, age 69, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on February 11, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1955 to the late Maurice Clearfield and Rosemarie Breen.

An avid lover of the arts, Marc pursued his passion after graduating from Northeast High School and attended Tyler School of Art, where he was accomplished in printmaking. During his college years, he spent a year abroad in Rome to study art and art history.

Marc touched hundreds of lives during his 38 years of teaching in the School District of Philadelphia. Before he retired in 2019, he mentored countless new and student teachers, ran Chess Club, and was awarded Art Teacher of the Year in 2018.

Marc impacted hundreds of lives by dedicating his summers to Southampton Summer Day Camp. He enjoyed traveling with his children, cooking, reading, and the beach.

He is survived by his two daughters Elizabeth Clearfield and Lauren Clearfield Smith (Nicholas); grandchildren Riley and Avery; former wife Ann Clearfield; brother Daniel Clearfield (Robbie); sister Maureen Clearfield (Adam Whyte); several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Please join the Clearfield family on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Marc's life. Family sharing for Marc will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food. His family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
