Marciann "Marcia" Jacoby

Marciann  (Marcia) Jacoby passed away suddenly of a massive stroke on April 4, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born July 31, 1937 in Shenadoah, Pennsylvania.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She never slowed down; she continued to work as a receptionist at a long term health care facilities, and was passionate about her volunteer work with the League of Women Voters of Abington-Cheltenham and Jenkintown area and previous work at the Abington Free Library. She had many friends through her community service. She loved to walk for exercise, along the paths of Pennypack Park. She enjoyed coffee and conversation. She was a central unifying force for her family, often hosting family gatherings, especially the Thanksgiving holiday which she loved.

She was born to Dora and Ben Schoor in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. She had two sisters, Sheila (Schoor) Blunt and Janet Schoor. She lived in Shenandoah until attending The University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She married John James Jacoby and lived in Connecticut for a few years before moving to the Philadelphia area, and lived in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania for the last several years of her life. She had three children. She is survived by her sisters as well as her sons, David and Richard Jacoby. Her husband, John, and son John Christopher predeceased her.
