Margaret "Meg" Maguire

Margaret Maguire 88 years old of Philadelphia PA peacefully passed away on October 30th 2025. "Meg" as she preferred exuded a pioneering spirit. At the age of 22 she boarded the SS lle de France cruise liner in South Hampton, England. Meg's 7 day ocean voyage across the Atlantic was not only exciting but marked the beginning of a long life's journey filled with family, friends and many dinner parties. Although Meg departed from her homeland in 1959 she continued to favor the flavor of both English and Irish cuisine. In fact Meg enjoyed shopping at O'Neils market in Glen side PA, as this store stocked her favorite chocolate (Cadbury Crunchie) & HP sauce. A sauce that she used to doctor her delicious Sheppard's Pie.

Sadly, Meg became a widow when her husband Hugh Maguire Sr. unexpectedly passed away. It was then Meg devoted herself to raising her two sons Hugh McGuire Jr. (deceased) and Francis "Frankie" McGuire. Meg was also a devoted caretaker, friend and Aunt. Meg loved life and her faith. She was a well known parishioner at many area Catholic Churches & loved by her many neighbors in the Mayfair area where she resided.

Meg is now off to her next voyage as she is now reunited with her loved ones.

Please join Meg's family on Sunday November 9, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating her life. A service for her will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food, until 3:00pm. Meg's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening. This will be a combined service with her beloved son, Hugh McGuire. Burial for Meg will follow the next day, on Monday November 10th 11:00 am at Resurrection cemetery 5201 Hulmeville Rd. Bensalem PA 19020.
