Margaret "Peggy" W. Ritter

Margaret "Peggy" Ritter (nee Willey) age 99 of Newtown, passed away peacefully at Pennswood Village on February 6, 2023.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Our mother was born in Trenton, New Jersey and graduated from Trenton High School and received a certificate in piano from Julliard School of Music.  She started teaching piano at the age of 13 after receiving her first lesson in piano at the age of 11.  She made her debut with the Trenton Symphony Orchestra in 1939.  Always a devoted pianist, she took lessons from her friend and teacher, Carol Aicher in her 70's and and 80's.  She was the bell choir conductor at the Langhorne Presbyterian Church for many years.  She met our father, the french horn player, in high school and they were married in 1946.  She is pre-deceased by our father, Charles Ritter, and her parents, A.R. and Edith (Satterthwaite) Willey.  She is survived by four loving daughters, Beth (Jim) Moriarty, Kay (Fred) Flanagan, Leslie (Scott Petito), and Lisa (Ted) Miller.  Also her brother, A.R. Willey Jr. (Bud), grandchildren Chris Frankel (Marion), Erin Frankel (Alvaro Cadahia), Molly Flanagan (Frank Stathes), Rebecca Flanagan (Dave Chase), Rachel Morcrette (Ryan), and Douglas Miller (Brit); great-grandchildren Gabriela, Sofia, Kelsey Cadahia, Emma, Jeremy, Lucas Frankel, Nolan and Elliott Morcrette, and Esme Flanagan.

Memorial donations may be made to the Langhorne Presbyterian Church.  Memorial service to be held at a future date.  Mom always said "the first hundred years are the hardest" and she lived into her hundredth year...now comes the easy part.
