Marian Brightbill Rowe, 91, passed away on June 23rd, at Pennswood Village, Newtown, PA. Born on October 29, 1932, in Gloucester City, NJ to the late David F. Brightbill of Lebanon, PA, and Astrid M. Christiansen of Bergen, Norway.
A graduate of Juniata College (BS 1954) and The College of New Jersey (MA 1984), Marian was a long-time resident of Yardley, PA, and served on the Pennsbury Board of Education, and was an adjunct instructor at The College of New Jersey, with further study at Rider University and Temple University. Her lifelong interest in education was evidenced in a teaching career ranging from nursery school to graduate school level instruction. She also had a private counseling practice in Yardley, and consulted for the human resources departments of numerous Fortune 500 companies for their pre-retirement employee programs.
Pre-deceased by her sisters, Margaret and Madeline Brightbill, she is survived by three children: Barbara L. Rowe of Waynesville, NC; Rev. David C. (Awilda) Rowe of Lawrenceville, NJ; and Steven C. (Kathleen) Rowe of Delmar, NY; and four grandchildren: Olivia M. Rowe of Falls Church, VA; Ethan J. Rowe of Brooklyn, NY; Kirsten Rowe (Luke) Thomas of Glenville, NY; Annika M. Rowe of Boston, MA; and great-grandson Greyson Thomas of Glenville, NY.
A graveside service for the family will be scheduled for this fall in Titusville, NJ.
