Marie "Bunny" Gray

On November 4, 2022 Marie Biehl Gray passed away peacefully at Philadelphia Protestant Home.  Born September 22, 1936, Marie soon became known as Bunny to everyone who knew and loved her. 

Bunny was the loving mother of Joseph Gray (Pat), Gloria McCauley, the late Cynthia Gray, and the late Kenneth Gray.  She adored her grandchildren Michael D. McCauley “Dean”, Timothy McCauley, Jamie Gray, Patrick Joseph Gray “P.J.”, Sean McAdams, and great-grandsons Shane McCauley, Kyle Dethloff, and Oliver McAdams.  Bunny was also the adoring wife and longtime companion to the late Joseph Gray. She is also survived by her sister Nancy (Eddie) and sister-in-law Maria. She was predeceased by siblings Frank (Betty), Alice (John), Kenny (Maria), and Donald (Barbara). Bunny was dearly loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

During her life she cashiered, bartended, waitressed, life-guarded, house-cleaned, provided pet care, along with many odd jobs to make ends meet.  Bunny’s favorite time was when she was with her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends. She loved to drink tea, take walks, swim, paint, arts and crafts, and shop. She could take any piece of material and create a unique and beautiful outfit. Bunny was quite the fashionista and loved to dress up for any occasion. Bunny loved Wildwood where she lived for many years.  She was a great dancer and dancing with her friends brought her the most joy.

Bunny will be remembered as a beautiful soul inside and out, kind, considerate, strong, independent, grateful, and sweet. She felt the love and admiration from her family and friends and she knew her life was richer and fuller because of them.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather to remember Bunny on Friday, December 9, 2022 beginning at 09:30 am at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA  19116. Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Philadelphia Protestant Home’s Benevolent Fund can be made.
