Marie R. Burton

Marie R, Burton passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026 at the age of 88.

Marie was the beloved wife of Kenneth H. Burton for 60 years. Their love story began at a Lincoln H.S. dance and lead to their marriage on May 12, 1962.

Marie was a 1955 graduate of St. Huberts H.S., where she was a Bambi’s cheerleader and involved in student government. Last year, on the 70th anniversary of her graduation she was visited by her H.S. Bambi mascot at her home in Warrington PA.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Anna Hogan. She is preceded by her husband Kenneth and sisters Patricia Retter, Anita Baxter, and Eileen Storke.

Marie lived with her husband Ken in Parkwood and was an active member of St. Anselm church for 60 years. She was an avid Philly sports fan, especially the Flyers. She managed the business office of Burton Masonry.

ReRe was actively involved with three generations of her many nieces and nephews. She witnessed our births, baptisms, communions, confirmations, graduations, sporting events and weddings. She and Kenny supported us through the passing of our parents and were a foundation of our family. She is loved and will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10:00am until the funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Anselm Church 12670 Dunks Ferry Rd., Phila. PA 19154, followed by inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marie’s name may be made to St. Anselm Church.
