It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Patrick Higgins, "Marty", who departed this life tragically on June 20, 2026, at the age of 45.
Marty was born into the loving Higgins family and spent his life building meaningful relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. A graduate of Temple University, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and worked as a CLIP Inspector for the City of Philadelphia.
Marty was known for his passion for clothing, style, and self-expression. More importantly, he was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering support for those he loved. Marty was the person who showed up when someone needed him, always making time for family and friends no matter what was going on in his own life.
Nothing brought Marty more joy than his nieces and nephews. He adored Jamie, Michael, Declan, Conor, Elizabeth, Nora, Erin, and Matthew, and was always looking for ways to make them laugh, smile, and feel special. His love for them was evident in every interaction and every memory they shared together.
Marty was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Higgins, who passed away in 1987.
He is lovingly remembered by his father, John Higgins; his stepmother, Marianne Higgins; his siblings, Brendan Higgins (Kyley), Bridget Yagle (Mike), Patrick McKinney (Bridget), Michael McKinney (Marissa), and Megan McKinney-Dyson (Derek); his beloved nieces and nephews, Jamie, Michael, Declan, Conor, Elizabeth, Nora, Erin, and Matthew; his aunts, Mary, Peg, and Marie; his uncle, Bill; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
Marty's kindness, loyalty, and compassionate nature will be deeply missed but never forgotten. The love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Marty's memory to The Soles Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Though his time with us was far too short, Marty's legacy of love, friendship, and devotion to family will remain forever.
