Mary Teresa “Terry” Findlay, née Grady, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and close friends on Monday, October 13, 2025. Just a few weeks shy of her 85th birthday —a celebration that no-doubt would have been spent with her many beloved friends, family, and of course live music featuring her favorite band “So Easy”.
Terry lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness — a life that touched everyone around her. A talented pianist and violinist, Terry filled her home with music, a passion that she shared with her three children. Terry’s love for the arts, including many shows at the Walnut Street Theatre, reflected her deep appreciation for life’s beauty. She was also a proud member of the Catholic Daughters, where her faith and generosity would always shine through in everything she did.
Terry’s adventurous spirit took her far and wide. She traveled to Spain to visit her grandson, drove cross-country, and went on countless road trips with her best friend Loretta Shore, creating memories full of joy and spontaneity.
Above all, Terry was devoted to her family. Not only to her three children, but she also adored her three grandchildren, whom she always supported, encouraged, and chauffeured wherever they wanted to go.
Terry shared a long and loving marriage with her devoted husband, John “Yogi” Findlay (deceased), and together they built a life full of love, laughter, adventure, and cherished memories. She is survived by her three children, Donna Findlay (Tobie Warren, dec.), John (Nancy) Findlay, and Thomas Findlay. Was a loving grandparent to Alyssa (Edward) Kaminski, John (Andrea) Findlay, and Michael Findlay, and a proud great-grandparent to Hailee Kaminski. She was a beloved friend to many, sister-in-law to Deborah Grady, Margaret (Joseph) Young (dec.), Joanne (John) Walker (dec.), Ronald (Joan) Findlay, Peter (Vicky) Findlay (dec.), Kathleen (Robert) Stewart, and William T. Findlay (dec.) and was known as Aunt Terry to John (Jeani) Grady, Laura (Gerry) McGovern and many other nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Grady, and her brother Jack Grady.
All who knew her will miss her deeply, but take comfort in knowing her spirit continues in every melody, every adventure, and every act of kindness inspired by her, including thanking veterans for their service to this country.
A viewing for Terry will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at St. Dominic Church, 8504 Frankford Avenue. Phila, PA 19136 followed by her funeral mass at 11:00am.
