Matilda Leemon

Matilda “Tilly” Schnell Leemon 84 years old passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024 at Lafayette Redeemer Nursing Home in Philadelphia, PA.

Matilda was born in Austria in 1940 to the late Josef and Margaret Schnell. She moved to Germany during the war then arrived in Philadelphia in 1948 with her parents and her siblings. Matilda became a seamstress, there after worked at Whitman’s chocolate Factory, later she retired from Permalith Plastics in Pennsauken NJ where she was a quality controller for over twenty years.

Matilda was the beloved partner of the late Ricardo Mailiuat, and the loving mother to Richard Leemon (Samantha) Suzanne Paluszek, and Ronald Leemon (Angela). She was also the adored grandmother to Stephanie Rosenblatt (Craig), Richard Leemon, Helene Paluszek, Michelle Peden (Tim), Kevin Leemon, Amanda Leemon, Camree Leemon, as well as the cherished great grandmother to eight great grandchildren. Matilda was a great friend to her sister Marge wolf who she called Krusia, she was also the beloved sister to her six other brothers and sisters. Matilda was the loving Aunt Tilly to Eight nieces and nephews as well as to many great nieces and nephews.

Services for Matilda will be private. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
