It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Jr. on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Michael was a devoted father, loving son, and dedicated husband whose life was marked by love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his family.
Born with a heart full of courage, he was known to many as the "toughest dude around." His strength was not just physical but deeply rooted in his character. He faced life’s challenges with determination and was always the first to lend a helping hand, even if it meant giving the shirt off his back.
Michael is survived by his two cherished sons, Michael (Payton) and Matthew (Jessica), who were the light of his life, his parents, Michael Sr. and Donna, who raised him with the values that he passed on to his own children and his sister, Donna (Brian). He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Jacqueline Flanagan, who passed away on August 10, 2023. Michael and Jacque married on October 22, 1994, and shared 32 wonderful years together, 29 of those as husband and wife. Their bond was unbreakable, and they were not just partners in marriage but best friends through every joy and challenge.
Michael loved nothing more than watching his sons grow up, particularly when they stepped onto the soccer field. With Jacque by his side, he took immense pride in their accomplishments and was their biggest supporter in every aspect of life.
A man of unparalleled strength and selflessness, Michael fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, never allowing it to define him or diminish his spirit. He was a provider, a protector, and a man who worked tirelessly for everything he had. His legacy is one of hard work, dedication, and an unyielding love for his family.
Michael’s absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His strength, love, and selflessness will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Michael’s memory by treasuring your loved ones and living each day with the same resilience and love that he demonstrated throughout his life.
