Michael Henry Miller, 64, passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 7, 2021.
Michael was born on August 16, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Frankford High School and went on to become a Medical Laboratory Technician. He worked at Einstein Hospital and then for the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health until he retired in September 2014.
In his younger years, Michael spent many summers in Wildwood with his closest friends. As he got older, he loved to spend his summer days in Cape May, at Island Beach State Park, or in Florida with family or friends.
An enthusiastic traveler, Michael was able to take a dream vacation to Europe with his best friend Marianne Anthony. He also enjoyed camping, both with his family and with the Boy Scouts of Troop 11.
Known for his cooking skills, Michael loved to prepare meals for his loved ones. He often volunteered his talents at the Holiday House of the Girls’ Friendly Society in Cape May.
For many years, Michael served as a faithful member of Grace Church & The Incarnation. He has served as a lay reader, vestry member, eucharistic minister, deanery representative, and delegate to the convention. Well done, good and faithful servant.
Michael’s greatest joy was his role as father and grandfather. He was a fun, loving, and very involved Dad and Pop. He was always ready and willing to go on a family vacation, come over for a visit, cook dinner, or babysit.
Michael is survived by his children, Glynnis (Chris) Wenstrup, and James (Jennifer) Miller. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, and Lillianna; his siblings Sharon (Michael) Kelly, Richard (Terry) Miller, Kenneth Miller, & Wayne (Veronica) Miller.
