Michael J. Spooner

April 12, 1989 — January 3, 2025

Michael J. Spooner

Michael J. Spooner suddenly passed away in the arms of his wife after a tragic accident on January 3rd 2025. Born on April 12 1989 in the United Kingdom, Spooner decided to make Philadelphia home.

Michael took pride in all aspects of his life from his career and helping coworkers, to playing pool, and taking care of his family. Spooner’s infectious laughter was heard all around the world including England, Prague, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, and of course America. Michael was so proud to become an American citizen and vote for the first time in 2024.

Michael’s love of his family and friends was only matched by his love of animals, Liverpool FC, The Green Bay Packers, fantasy football, cricket, cooking, reading, and writing. In the free time he had Michael loved driving his wife to work every morning, singing, playing guitar, playing poker, going out to dinner with friends, spending time with his wife and family, and traveling.

He will forever be loved, missed, and remembered by his wife, Kayla Spooner and their pets, his parents, Sarah and Ian Spooner, his sisters, Amy Waller and Nicola Spooner, his mother and father in law, Keith and Gina Hatchell, as well as sister-in law Kirsten Hatchell. He is also survived by all of his extended family on both sides.

Michael and Kayla’s relationship blended two families into one. We are sure he’s having an ice cold beer with his old dog Ben. As he would sing on the weekends, “walk on, walk on with hope in your heart and you’ll never walk alone.”

Please join the family on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Michael's life.
