Michael J. Voigt

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Voigt of Philadelphia, PA, who left us on February 21st, 2025, at the age of 47. 

Michael was the loving father of Daniel Heller, Kelsey Voigt, and MJ( Michael) Voigt. He was the cherished son of Cheryl Voigt Balderston and Michael Kennedy, and stepson of William Balderston. He was also the beloved grandson of the late Margret Voigt. Michael is remembered with love by his siblings: Thomas Horan (Megan), Cara Diadato (Joseph), Stephan Balderston, and Wesley Balderston. He was the proud grandfather of Seamus Lane, and an adored uncle to Lexie, Weston, Jonathan, WesleyJr, Emilee, and Stella. Michael is also deeply missed by his aunts and uncles, including the late William (Sherri), Kenneth (Linda), Robert (Dawn), Donna, and the late Mary, along with many treasured cousins. 

Michael grew up in Philadelphia and held a deep love for his family, especially his children. He was passionate about the Philadelphia Eagles, and when he wasn't cheering for his favorite team, he enjoyed fishing, dirt bikes, and late-night snacks—particularly Jello with extra whipped cream. Michael was a true jack of all trades, always eager to lend a hand and fix things. He was always down for a good movie. His generosity of spirit touched everyone who knew him. 

After a long, hard fight, Michael is finally at peace. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy of love, kindness, and fun will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 

Please join Michael's family on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating his life. A service for Michael will begin at 7:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food, until 9:00pm. His family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
