Oneita M. Harmon

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Oneita Marie Harmon, affectionately known as Nita, of Wynnewood, PA, on June 30, 2025, shortly before her 78th birthday.

Nita was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, remembered for her vibrant personality, generous spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering determination. Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 6, 1947, she pursued her passions through education, earning multiple degrees and certifications in medical secretary work, medical transcription in English and Spanish, culinary arts, and more. She was also a skilled seamstress, caterer, and multitalented hobbyist.

Nita dedicated her life to family and friends, always welcoming them with warmth, delicious meals, and her famous homemade desserts. She shared her love and wisdom through a listening ear, comforting embrace, and thoughtful advice. A talented cook from a young age, Nita even authored her own cookbook. Her Bourbon Balls and Spinach Parmesan were family favorites that brought joy to every gathering.

She is survived by her loving children, Daniel and André Harmon; granddaughters, Ayahnna and Damaris; grandson, Demetrius; great-granddaughters, Avani and Revé; sisters, Diana and Kathleen; brother, Edward; as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including her soul sister, Linda Saunders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Harmon, brothers, Joseph and William and her dearest friend, Mosco Myles.

Please join the Harmon family on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Nita's life. A service for Nita will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by time for refreshments and food, until 6:00pm. Her family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrance, and support throughout the evening.
