Patricia "Pat" Lawson

Pat Lawson (nee Sheffer) passed away peacefully to join her loving husband on August 6th, 2023. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph (Joe) Lawson. Mother of Karen (Pete), Kimberly (Anthony) and Joseph (Christie). She is predeceased by her parents Frederick and Marie (nee Sunderland) Sheffer, brothers Jim (Chickie), Joseph and sisters Geraldine and Frances (Bill). She had devoted love from her grandchildren Amanda, Peter, Declan and Jameson. She has fond memories of her many nieces and nephews. She will also miss seeing and playing with her grand pups.

Pat grew up in Fishtown (Philadelphia) and graduated from Hallahan High School for Girls. She then had several jobs before becoming a bookkeeper for the Book Binders Union, eventually retiring from Smith, Edwards and Dunlap Printers.

She was a very active member of over 50 years with American Legion Auxiliary, Wm. D. Oxley Post 133. She loved doing crafts of all kinds and when she moved into the Philadelphia Protestant Home she became very well-known not just for her crafts that benefitted the Benevolent Fund but her dedication with the PPH Auxiliary for the past 10 years.

She loved her friends that she hung out with in Gateway, enough that they formed their own group known as “THE GATEWAY GUZZLERS” when they went to Happy Hour.

Pat’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 12^th at The Philadelphia Protestant Home 6500 Tabor Ave. 19111 in the Social Hall from 9am until 11am. A service will follow.
