Patricia E. Woodhead

Patricia E. Woodhead also lovingly known as "Pat" or "Patsy" 85, of Pickering Manor, Newtown, PA passed away on May 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born in Philadelphia on Nov. 18, 1936, to the late William and Marie (nee Donahue) Harris.  Pat is survived by her loving husband of 61 years William G. Woodhead and her two sons David (Lalaine) and Robert.  Her beloved grandchildren Robert (Jamie), Keith, Katie and Alexis.  Her other beloved grandson Patrick predeceased her in death.  She was the sister of the late William Harris (late Ann), late Marie Connelly (late Joseph), late Judith Yottey and the late Kenneth Harris (Nancy).  She was also blessed with her cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Pat grew up in Philadelphia lived in Kensington and Mayfair neighborhoods before marrying the love of her life Bill.  Her and Bill raised their sons in Roslyn, then Jenkintown, before moving to Rio Grande, NJ at the shore.  She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Glenside and the Church Council President for many years.  She was a proud and loyal member of the Frankford #295 and Signet #129 Eastern Star Chapters. She served as Worthy Matron, Secretary and Treasurer, along with other offices.

Pat was known to always be kind, upbeat, supportive and loving.  Pat adored her family and was fiercely protective of them.  She was a people person.  Pat and Bill loved to travel and instilled that love in their two sons.  They traveled to the Philippines, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and over thirty states.  One of Pat’s favorite holidays was Fourth of July, as she was very patriotic and loved the good olde USA.  Her 4th of July BBQ’s were an annual family highlight.

Later in life, Pat moved to Pickering Manor in Newtown, PA.  It is here where she found a renewed sense of purpose to live for in life.  She was the Resident Council President and always advocated for those residents who she felt needed to be heard.  She also was a second mom/grandmom to many of the staff members and imparting her wisdom to them.

The other passion in life that Pat had was entertaining her family and friends with get-togethers and parties. To honor that wonderful trait, the family is inviting those who can attend to Pat’s last celebration event on Thursday May 12th 2022 from 6 – 9 pm at the Delaware Valley Cremation Center, located at 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA. A service for Pat will begin promptly at 7:00 PM with time for refreshments and fellowship, until 9:00 pm, where Pat's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
