Peter Brian Murphy, 68, passed away on March 23, 2026 – twelve years to the day since the loss of his beloved wife, Dolores. A date that already carried so much, now holding even more significance.
Born into a big family, Pete was the third of nine siblings. Being in the middle meant he was shaped by both sides. A younger brother to some, and a mischievous older brother to most!
Pete had a dry witty sense of humor, the kind that caught you off guard and made you laugh out loud a second later.
He was a private man who loved his family deeply. He had a quiet dependability that made people feel at ease and earned him the first call when others were in need. A constant anchor, known more for what he did than what he said, he showed up with endless knowledge and a cold beer in hand.
He loved to tinker and was an inventor at heart. Broken or not, he could fix or improve it – modifying, innovating, and customizing to his liking. He had a natural talent for working with his hands, paired with a sharp meticulous mind some would call visionary – he could imagine something clearly and bring it to life.
He appreciated the simple things in life with expertise – music, golf, races, motorcycle rides, a good beer, gin, or whiskey in hand; a true Irishmen.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, James and Joyce Murphy; his beloved wife, Dolores; his sister, Elaine; and his granddaughter, Alexis.
He is survived by his daughters, Jasmine (Kevin), Briana (Tom), and Lea (Jesse); his granddaughter, Hailey; his siblings, Mike, Diane, Dan, Sharon, Mary and Colleen; as well as many, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind those who will carry him forward – in the fixing of something broken, in a well-timed joke, and in the steady presence he brought to those who loved him.
Details for a Celebration of his life will be shared at a later time.
