It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Rachel Gagliano on July 9, 2026.
Rachel was the loving wife of Thomas Gagliano. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter through both joyful and challenging times. She was the cherished daughter of Barbara Doms and the late Robert Doms; the proud sister of Jeffrey Doms (Vicky); and the incredibly adoring "Auntie Rach" to her nephew, Lucas Doms. She will also be missed by her mother-in-law, Eileen Gagliano; her brother-in-law, Nicholas Gagliano; and Marie Thiel, affectionately known as "Gunga."
Rachel's heart extended to every member of her family, including her beloved fur babies—Ruca, Kenny, Jules, Frank, and her "estranged" cat, Little—who all brought immeasurable joy to her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
Born on March 27, 1985, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rachel embraced life with love, passion, and an infectious sense of humor. She graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School before earning her degree from Gwynedd Mercy University, which led to a successful and deeply fulfilling career as a highly respected Invasive Cardiovascular Technician. Rachel took great pride in caring for others and was admired for her skill, compassion, and dedication.
Rachel approached everything she loved with fierce enthusiasm. Her competitive spirit first shined on the soccer field and continued throughout her life in the playful competitions she shared with Tom. She had an incredible gift for making people laugh, often quoting her favorite movies and television shows at just the right moment. She also found peace through poetry and art, expressing her creativity in countless ways. One of Tom's favorite daily traditions was discovering the funny and heartfelt whiteboard drawings Rachel created just for him—a simple act that perfectly reflected her wit, imagination, and love. No matter what life brought her, music was always a source of comfort and joy.
Although Rachel's time with us was far too short, the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. In her final act of extraordinary generosity, Rachel was a donor through the Gift of Life Donor Program, leaving behind a legacy of hope that will continue to touch others for years to come.
Please join Rachel's family on Thursday July 16, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating her life. A service for Rachel will begin at 7:00 pm. Her family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances, and support throughout the evening.
On Friday July 17, 2026, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 8504 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19136. Visitation for Rachel will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with her funeral mass beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 County Line Rd, Lower Southampton Township, PA 19006.
