Regina Marie Hence

Regina Marie O’Donnell Hence died September 21, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

A lifetime resident of Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Sr. and Mary (nee McNicholas) O’Donnell.  Gina was a loving, kind, and eternally happy lady.  Her life revolved around family, and her greatest joy in life was being a mom.  She could always be counted on to jump in and help with her nieces and nephews.  As with most O’Donnells, you would know within the first half hour of meeting her that she loved everything about being of Irish descent, and counted down the days until the next St. Patrick’s Day celebration!  Gina loved to laugh, have fun, and listen to music; in particular Rod Stewart, The Beatles, and, of course, Irish tunes.

Gina is survived by her husband, Michael Hence of Philadelphia, PA; her son Kevin O’Donnell of Philadelphia, PA; her siblings John of Philadelphia, PA; Eugene Jr. (Patricia) of Harrisburg, PA; Maureen Stewart (Robert) of Philadelphia, PA; Daniel (Connie) of Warminster, PA; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, Angela Pike of Pike Creek, DE; Sean (Mackenzie) of Mt. Joy, PA; Anthony (Amanda) of Audubon, PA; Tierney (James) Miller of Hummelstown, PA; Eric (Alyssa) of Harrisburg, PA; Shea of Warminster, PA; and her great-nieces and nephews, Taylor Chybinski of Atlanta, GA; Heather Chybinski of Pike Creek, DE; Mason of Atlanta, GA; Oliver of Mt. Joy, PA; and her great-great niece, Violet of Atlanta, GA.  Gina was predeceased by her daughter, Erin Theresa O’Donnell, as well as her siblings, Patrick and Peggy.

A memorial will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 12pm at Casbah Caterers, located at 3461 E. Thompson St., with a luncheon to follow.  The wearing of green is highly encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
