Richard W. Garrow

Richard (Rich) W. Garrow Sr., husband of Lynne C. (Tillotson) Garrow, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 in the comfort of his own home.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of late James Garrow Jr. and Magdalena Garrow.

Rich was a renowned athlete in his years at Archbishop Ryan High School where he was a member of the football team and track and field. For over fifty years he held ARHS record for shotput set in 1971. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, building wooden models, and watching the Eagles. He was a hardworking man and was willing to help anyone.

He was loved by many along with his wife Lynne of 51 years and his children Jeanette (Garrow) Forster, wife of the late Al Forster, and Richard Garrow II, husband of Katherine (Lynch) Garrow; his grandchildren, Madalynne, Keith, and Kevin Forster, and Richard Garrow III; and his siblings the late Marie Devlin, James Garrow III, and Patricia (Garrow) Williams.

Please join the Garrow family on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Rich’s life. A service for him will begin at 7:00 pm with time for refreshments and fellowship afterwards, until 9:00 pm. Rich’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support throughout the evening.
