Richard J. McGuire passed away on June 17, 2024 at home, with his family by his side. He was 78 years old and the husband to Patricia (Jaworski) McGuire for 42 years.

Born in Philadelphia, Richard was the son to the late Harry and Marie Taylor McGuire.

Richard was a graduate of North Catholic High School. After high school he went into the military and proudly served his country. Upon getting out he had other jobs. His biggest accomplishment was being a Deputy Sheriff for the city of Philadelphia for 30 plus years, until retirement.

Richard had various hobbies, but he loved golfing the most. He and Patricia loved to travel, especially if it was on a cruise. You could also find Richard and Patricia taking endless trips every summer with their friends to Wildwood, NJ.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his brothers, Tom and Bob (Sue), his sister, Marie Lees and his sister-in-law, Gerri. As well as many nieces and nephews. Richard is predeceased by his brother, Harry, sister-in-law, Carol and brother-in-law, Joe.

Please join the McGuire family on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Rich’s life. A service for him will begin at 7:00 pm with time for refreshments and fellowship afterwards, until 9:00 pm. Rich’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support throughout the evening.
