Robert “Flash” Andersen, age 71, returned home to the Lord on May 26, 2024. Robert lived in the Philadelphia area his whole life. He passed away in Yardley, PA. Even in trying times, he remained grateful and joyful for what he had, and whom he was spending time with. He had the gift of sharing his light.
Robert was a professional sign painter in the Greater Philadelphia area for many years. As the industry changed, he did other things and ultimately pursued his passion by painting large murals. Although his external works would impress some, it is his internal works that impressed all who knew him well. He lived a life of service. He gave everything he had to others, even when it was not much to give. He was known by his childhood nickname, “Flash”, in the AA community. After years of sobriety, he remained very active helping others find their way. He was an advocate and gifted public speaker about recovery. He devoted his life to sharing his faith and helping others to the end. That is the work that had the most impact.
Robert is survived by his former wife, and mother of his children: Patricia Andersen, and his two sons: Robert and Jonathan (Krystal). Beloved grandfather to his grandchildren: Abria, Jonathan, and Carly, and loving sister: Johanne Steigerwald. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Tish.
Although he will be missed, he was abundantly clear and vocal about his death being a homecoming. He was comforted by his relationship with God. He is now at peace. The Andersen Family has decided not to have a public funeral service.
