Robert "Bob" Wright

Robert “Bob” Wright, born in Philadelphia on November 10^th, 1959 to Robert and Mary Wright, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on November 11, 2023. Bob was a dedicated husband to his wife Bernice for 37 years. He was the loving father to his children, Angela and her husband Vince and Bobby and his wife Lauren. He will especially be missed by his grandson, Tommy who affectionately knew him as Pop. Bob is also survived by his siblings, Theresa and her husband Kevin, Jim and Michael. Bob was survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was fiercely loved by many nieces and nephews. To grow up with “Uncle Bob” was one of the greatest gifts you could have received. Bob was also a friend to so many. He was often described as “everyone needs a friend like Bobby.” His Sturgis family will miss him dearly.

Bob grew up in Hunting Park where he was a St. Henry’s graduate class of 1973 and Cardinal Dougherty High School graduate class of 1977. Bob lived a life of service not only for his family and the community but within his profession. Bob worked as a machinist, printing press operator, and for The United Parcel Service. He will be missed by his co-workers for his kindness, generosity, and humble qualities.

Bob was known for his bold personality. You heard Bob first before seeing him enter a room. His love was contagious. Bob always gave more than he received and never expected anything in return. His greatest joy was his family. No one worked harder than Bob to provide a life of happiness for Bernice, Angela and Bobby. He will be missed every day by everyone who knew him. He was a real-life superhero who now has a front row seat among the stars.

Please join the Wright family on Saturday November 18, 2023 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Bob’s life. Family sharing for Bob will begin at 4:00 pm. His family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support throughout the evening.
