Robert “Bob” Edward Lewinski Sr., age 72, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on the afternoon of November 6, 2025. He was born September 17, 1953, in Philadelphia, the youngest of two sons of the late Theodore and Irene (Miller) Lewinski.
Bob is survived and missed by his loving wife, Maureen (nee McGeever), of 53 years. Forever admired by their two children, Maureen (Patrick) and Robert Jr.. Closely cherished and remembered by his three grandchildren, William, Kyle, and Hailey, and endlessly loved by his older brother James “Ron” (Rita) and his nephew and niece, Ted and Tina.
He worked hard throughout his whole life at many places, including Progress Lighting beginning a side gig when that closed down- called “The Lew Brothers”, a lawncare service with his older brother Ron, The U.S. Mint, and lastly Household Metals Inc., retiring at the age of 67 in March of 2021.
He was an avid lover of The Beatles; their songs were truly the soundtrack to his life. He loved every bit of going down to the Wildwood shore, the nightly specials at Owen’s Pub, morning bike rides on the boardwalk, the ocean with his grandchildren, and before leaving, always had to stop to buy his stamps, and also fudge and saltwater taffies to bring a bit of that magic home with him! The Philadelphia Flyers were easily his favorite Philly sports team, so much so that he had their logo tattooed on his leg! However, he did enjoy watching The Eagles, especially on Sundays, when he would go over to watch with his best friend, Bill (Gaff). He loved this time of year when the clocks rolled back, and Christmas time, he always had a prank to go along with the presents he gave out. Friends and family honestly could never prepare for what Bob always had up his sleeve!
Bob’s uplifting spirit, generous heart, and witty sense of humor touched the lives of so many. He will be deeply and forever missed by his family, his many nieces and nephews, his many friends, and all who knew him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, from 1:00-5:00 pm at Three Monkeys Cafe, 9645 James St, Philadelphia, PA 19114.
We ask that all who plan to join us in honoring and celebrating our Bob will wear anything Beatles or Flyers, two of his favorite things!
