Robert Joseph Veneziano, Sr.

Robert Joseph Veneziano, Sr. was born on December 31, 1937 to the parents of Robert Veneziano and Josephine Veneziano (Nicoletti), and was the middle child, to his older sister Barbara (husband Donald McPeak) and his younger sister Nancy (husband Frank Bellezza). Robert, or Bob as most knew him, had two children, Cindy Veneziano (husband Nick Onnembo) and Robert, Jr.

Bob lived his whole life in Philadelphia, a city he loved very dearly. For the first 20 years of his career, he patrolled the streets as a Philadelphia K9 officer and was later promoted to detective. After “retirement”, and for over a decade, he worked as a non-teaching assistant for the Philadelphia School District. It’s at Stephen Girard School where he met his true love, Geraldine Slade, whom he spent over 30 years with until her passing. His final job, just over another decade, was a school bus driver at PACS (Philadelphia Academy Charter School), where Cindy was a teacher.

Bob loved his Phillies and Eagles and watched as many games as humanly possible. His hobbies included golf, blackjack, dogs, eating (but not cooking) and joking around as often as he could.

He was a proud grandparent to Nicholas, Matt, Preston, Sean, Amanda, and Ryan. He spent his last couple of years at Southampton Estates where he passed peacefully on August 1, 2023.

Please join the Veneziano family after 3:00 pm on Saturday August 5, 2023. at Delaware Valley Cremation Center 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Bob’s life. There will be a viewing for Bob from 3:00 - 4:00 pm, with a memorial tribute service beginning at 4:00 pm with time for refreshments and fellowship afterwards, until 6:00 pm where his family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support throughout the gathering.
