With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Michael Wilusz (Bob), a devoted husband, loving father, cherished Dziadzi, and dear friend, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 86. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and unwavering support for his family and friends.
Bob was born in the Yardley, PA area on his aunt’s farm and spent his youth in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. After high school, Bob joined the United States Air Force as a Communication Specialist, stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He completed a four-year enlistment and was honorably discharged. Following his time in the Air Force, Bob held various jobs and trades. In 1972 he joined the Philadelphia Police Department and served for 26 years, retiring as a Corporal. He continued his career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania until his official retirement. Throughout his life, Bob was a hard worker who provided diligently for his family.
Bob was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Carol for 52 years. They shared a marriage built on mutual respect and love, doing everything together, from raising six children to working side by side and enjoying many adventures during their retirement.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his six children, Carolyn Borragine (Michael), Christine Sutula (Robert), Richard (Traci), John (Brooke), Mark (Robyn), and Mariann Wilusz (Cliff); as well as his cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Jack, Anna, Katherine, Ryan, Ava, Shemar, Jackson, Tobin, Mariella, Luke, Wade, and Trent. Bob is also survived by his loving brother, John Wilusz.
Services will be held at St. Christopher’s Church (13301 Proctor St., Philadelphia, PA 19116) on January 21, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Mass at 12:00 PM. Bob will be interred with Military Honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. A luncheon will follow.
