Roselle Marie (nee Reznik ) Sucharski - Bartkowski of Bridesburg, PA passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022, of natural causes. She lived a long and happy life of 95 years. Roselle was born on September 26, 1926, in Philadelphia, the second of three girls, to the late Rose Marie and Jacob Reznik. She was the beloved wife first to Thaddeus John Bartkowski, and second to Zeney Sucharski, who welcome her in heaven. There she joins her son Thaddeus John Bartkowski II, her son David Sucharski, her granddaughter Carolanne Sucharski, and her sister Eleanor Warburton. She is survived by her eldest sister Madeline Meshanko, daughter Rosemarie (Ed) Milewski, daughters-in-law Bonnie Bartkowski and Caryn Sucharski, and sons Frank (Cathy) and Robert (Maria) Sucharski. Roselle was a cherished Grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and a beloved Aunt/Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Roselle exemplified the familial matriarchal position with grace and tenderness. Her devotion, tenacity, and resolve were admired by all. She was the proud President of the LaSalle Mothers’ Club in 1966. She spent many years working as the Administrative Lead to the Principal at Penn Treaty Elementary School before retiring. At the Brandywine Residence where she lived for the past 6 years, she was an avid trivia player, and she remains an unrefuted spelling bee champion there, consistently outwitting residents decades younger than her year after year.
Roselle enjoyed her life surrounded by loved ones, celebrating achievements, birthdays, and holidays. Roselle LOVED her family dearly and she committed herself entirely to them. Her home on Almond Street was a gathering place for family, food, music, and joy. The values of heritage, loyalty, progress, and perseverance that she has instilled will live on for generations.
She will forever be missed by so many. Niech spoczywa w pokoju. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday, August 26, 2022 beginning at 9:30AM at St. John Cantius Church, 4400 Block of E. Thompson St. Philadelphia. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30AM.
