Shane passed away on April 21 at the age of 35 after losing his long battle with addiction. We find solace in choosing to believe that he is finally at peace. Shane was an all-around good soul who was so much more than the disease that took him from us. He was smart, a voracious reader, a wonderful writer, imaginative, kind, compassionate, gentle, funny and, as anyone who knew him will attest, always unfailingly polite. He will forever be in our hearts and will be missed more than words can say.
Shane is predeceased by his Uncle John, Grammom, Pip-Pip, Nanny and Pop-Pop Ken. He is survived by his parents, Joanne and Rick Tyer, and his Uncle Mike, Aunt Kate and cousins Gianna, John Tyler, Mackenzie, Ryan and Cailey (Schoen side); Uncle Steve, Uncle Gar, Uncle Paul and Aunt Joanne, and cousins Bob, Joe, Mike, Keith, Rebecca, Allison and Matt (Tyer side); and his father Michael, Mom-Mom, Aunt Michelle and Maggie in Vegas, and Aunts Vicky, MaryEllen and Christine (Powell side).
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there’s no one else above you
You filled my heart with gladness, Took away all my sadness,
Eased my troubles that what you did.
You were, and always will be, the best thing that ever happened to me.
I’ll miss you, Shaney Boy. Love, Mama Dukes
