Shirley Ann Gindele

Shirley Ann Gindele passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 after a long illness. She died at The Philadelphia Protestant Home in Philadelphia. She was born in Palmer, MA, on October 23, 1941.

Shirley graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Woman’s Medical College of PA. She worked in the Emergency Room at the Hospital, and retired from there after 20 years of service to the nursing profession.

Shirley married Thomas E. Gindele, a Philadelphia Police Officer, on February 22, 1969. Thomas and Shirley traveled, enjoyed frequenting flea markets, bicycling and vacationing at the Jersey shore during their years of retirement.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Pearl (McLean) Lyons, two siblings and her beloved husband Thomas. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Anna Berger, a few cousins, 14 nieces and nephews, some second and third cousins and life-long friends.

Shirley’s kind nature and generosity remain a beautiful credit to her career as a nurse, her family and all who knew her.

All who knew and loved Shirley are invited to attend her burial on Saturday December 16, 2023 at 10:30 am, at Resurrection Cemetery 5201 Hulmeville Road Bensalem, PA. 19020
