Theresa Marie Cumberland

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Theresa Marie Cumberland, who passed on February 3, 2023. She had just turned 61 years old.

Terry grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and later lived on South Street for years in the music scene with her husband, Mark. They moved to the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia in the 1990's where she lived until her passing. 

She is survived by her husband Mark Cumberland, her son Mark Anton Cumberland, and her granddaughter Evelyn Marie Cumberland. Also survived by her mother Madeline Martin, her sister Debbie, her uncle Ray Martin, and many nieces and nephews.

Terry was always fun loving. She loved the music scene and made friends wherever she was.

She was a magnet to children. They always seemed to see something in her that drew them to her. Terry was fun to be around.  She always brought so much fun and laughter to a room. She was hard worker who also enjoyed partying with her friends.

Terry was great cook and could put together great meals for friends and family. She was a strong woman that would not be pushed around and was known by her friends to be someone you wanted on your side. You knew where she stood, but she was a very compassionate person who would go out of her way to help people that needed help, sometimes to her own detriment. That was Terry! 

She was a hard worker and worked for the Philadelphia Traffic Court. Terry also worked for years with the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union where she ended her career with them as a branch manager at their Temple University branch. 

Terry had many loyal friends who loved her up until her unexpected early passing.  She loved her family, had a big heart, and helped as many people as she could. Terry was married to her husband Mark for 40 years. She loved to sing and party with her friends and was a was die hard Eagles fan right until the end.  Terry will be missed greatly by all that knew her.

Please join the Cumberland family after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15th at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Terry's life.  The memorial tribute service will begin promptly at 7:00 with time for refreshments and fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 7:30 until 9:00 pm, where Terry's family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
