Theresa Irene McBurnie

Theresa Irene McBurnie (Carpino), 79, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. Born in Tacony to Julia and Vincent Carpino, and raised in Northeast Philadelphia, Theresa built a life rooted in family, tradition, and love. She spent most of her years in the Feasterville/Trevose community, where her home became a gathering place filled with warmth, laughter, and the unforgettable aroma of her famous meatballs.

A devoted mother, sister, and friend, Theresa is survived by her daughter Marisa Monastero and her son Bernard Kolman (Ann). She is preceded in death by her beloved children Stephen Kolman, Stephanie Kolman, and John D. McBurnie Jr., along with her husband John McBurnie with whom she will now rest in eternal peace. Despite the profound losses she endured, Theresa carried herself with resilience, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

She was the cherished grandmother of Nina Roller, Jenna Roller, Julia Kolman, Stephen Monastero, Nicholas Monastero, and Rocco Kolman each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Theresa loved spending time with her family, and she found special happiness in her visits to Ocean City, New Jersey, where the shore became a place of peace and cherished memories.

Theresa will be lovingly welcomed into heaven by the many family members who went before her and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9th, at Assumption BVM Church in Feasterville, PA. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, where Theresa will be laid to rest beside her son, John McBurnie
