William J. McGivern Jr.

William J. “Bill” McGivern, Jr., passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 22, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marion McGivern, and his sisters, Grace Ruane (Thomas) and Marion Massara (Camillo). He is survived by his wife, Eileen, they would have been celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on January 25th. Bill is also survived by his four children: William McGivern (Alice), Sean McGivern, Christopher McGivern, Katlyn Sweeney (James) and six grandchildren: William McGivern, Haylee McGivern, Sean McGivern, Alice Anne McGivern, Emily McGivern, Seamus Sweeney and his brother, Charles McGivern (Nancy). 

Bill was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, he worked for Amtrak for 35 years before retiring. Bill was known for his sense of humor and was loved by those that had the pleasure of knowing him. We loved him deeply and he is missed by many. 

Please join the McGivern family on Friday, February 02, 2024 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136, for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Bill's life. Family sharing for Bill will begin at 7:00 pm. His family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support throughout the evening.
