53, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2020, from complications due to Interstitial Lung Disease. He was born September 2, 1966 in Glenside, PA and has resided in the city of Philadelphia for the past several years. He graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School and Chestnut Hill College. He also resided in Ireland for two years, pursuing a graduate degree. One of his true loves was the pursuit of education. William was a jack of all trades. He served in the United States Air Force, as a police officer in Whitemarsh Township, a teacher, a carpenter, a bartender, and a dispatcher for the Philadelphia Police Department. He was also a wonderful artist and a lover of nature. He loved all Philadelphia sports teams, museums, and his Irish family and heritage. He could often be found on his days off, kayaking on the Schuylkill River, fishing, or out in the park of Rittenhouse Square, taking along anyone who would join him. He did not let anything stop him from learning something new or from embarking on a new adventure.
Survived by his loving children Casey M. Donner (Robert) and Kevin W. Mulcahy (Grace) and his siblings Mary Kate Jacob (Joe), Joseph Mulcahy (Betty) and Peter Mulcahy (Anne) as well as 9 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anne Mulcahy (nee Mulholland).
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Lung Association or the American Thoracic Society .
